Overview
As a SHO (Senior House Officer) you
will be working closely with other junior doctors and a team of registrar’s
doctors and Consultants within your department. You must maintain liaison with
colleagues who are on duty immediately before and after you to ensure adequate
communication and continuity of patient care.
The hospital offers an excellent salary with pay enhancements for any overtime,
shift and out of hours work that you do- average 39 hours per week plus
overtime opportunities as and when required.
You will instruct the nursing staff in the care of patients, also the
professional technical staffs in the investigations Etc.; that is necessary for
patient care and take care that other departments are fully acquainted with all
necessary information.
Salary
The
salary is based on the national salary scale as outlined in the Medical and
Dental Terms and Conditions and mentioned above.
Personal & Professional Development
The post-holder will be required to keep
himself/herself fully up-to-date with their relevant area of practice and be
able to demonstrate this to the satisfaction of the Trust.

professional development as laid down by the Royal College of Physicians and is
committed to providing time and financial support for these activities.
GMC Revalidation
Medical revalidation is the process by which the General Medical Council (GMC)
confirms the continuation of a doctor’s licence to practise in the UK, provides
greater assurance to patients, the public, employers and other healthcare
professionals that licensed doctors are up-to-date and fit to practise. It is a
key component of a range of measures designed to improve the quality of care
for patients.
Professional/Study Leave
Professional or study leave is granted for
postgraduate purposes approved by the Trust, and includes time off for study,
research, teaching, examining, taking examinations, visiting clinics external
to the Trust and attending professional conferences. Study leave allowance is a
maximum of 30 days in a 3-year period.

experience: that possesses the following qualities:

****IELTS
and PLAB Exam Part 1 & 2 ( IELTS,
overall score 7.5) – overseas doctors
****GMC Registration Essential (General Medical Council) – We can provide
guidance if needed
Note: The trust operates a policy whereby all employment for staff that have
access to children / venerable adults will be subject to satisfactory DBS
Disclosure ( Disclosure and Barring Service) The Criminal Records Bureau (CRB)
and the independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) have merged to become the
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Overseas candidates will require an
international police check or character reference.
